Over the past few years veritas has come out with a number of innovative accessories for holding stock including the very popular wonder dogsthe new veritas surface vise is a somewhat similar product with the advantage of a speed clamping feature that affords. It can be used anywhere you can drill a 34 inch 19 mm hole. When the vise is not in use the jaw can be removed whenever you need an unobstructed work surface.
