Starrett combination square review. I have a cheaper square that i have had 10 years and the level is still fine. The starrett 33j 6 junior combination square is used by mechanics toolmakers and patternmakers because of their compact small size and light weight. I purchased the starrett c33h 12 4ry combination square 113 together with an empire level e250 1594 for comparison. As far as i can tell both are perfectly square.

This product also includes a cast iron head with black wrinkle finish.

Starrett was far from the first to develop a precise measuring tool.
Heads are drop forged hardened steel and have smooth black enamel finish. I dont want to drop 100 on a starrett if there is a comparable alternative. The starrett 4 combination square with square head features a reversible lock bolt and hardened steel photo engraved blade with regular finish.
