Lots of times you get a little drizzle that goes across the leather and on the front when youre going to dye it that acts as a resist and you dont want that on your leather. You better try glueing on some scrap first because i never had any luck glueing anything to a oiled piece of leather like what you have. If theres a problem switch to a clear drying white glue.
