My wood was cut it was indeed not accurate nor straight. If youre in the store during a busy time expect to wait. Dimensional lumber is ideal for construction because it is lightweight strong and easy to work with. Cutting railroad ties takes some effort thats for sure.

Railroad ties are great to use for projects because theyre sturdy and are resistant to rot and insects but this also makes them difficult to cut. Ill update when i get it cut tonight. Ive worked in two different home depot stores and both allowed multiple cuts without charging a customer. One store said it will cut wood for free even if it wasnt purchased from menards.
