Dissolve wood glue joint. Now i love pva glue even more knowing that glued pieces of wood can be separated. Just point the gun at the joint and rock the wood to break the glue and wood apart. When it has enough play pull the joint apart. When ripping my own veneer i join one face of the wood on a jointer.

I make chess tables and boardsi use hide glue to glue the veneers to the mdf substrate. Sand the edges of the holes to smooth these out. Wood glue can be easy or hard to remove from wood depending on the kind of glue you have used. If the joint breaks to expose the end of a dowel or tenon drill a small hole and inject the solution into it. These lighter solutions should work on organic hide glue. If it remains stubborn use a vinegar and water solution or straight vinegar.

In my experience with furniture repair and refinishing i have found that i can dissolve wood glue 85 of the time with white vinegar. Care must be taken so that strong chemicals and abrasive materials dont damage the wood when you are attempting to remove the glue.

Apply the warm vinegar to the wood glue using a rag or old towel. Wood glue is a great option for making a simple joint between two pieces of wood. It takes patience to completely remove glue so that wood can be re used again. Its not the easiest task but it is easier than any other way out of such situations.

Let the alcohol sit on the joint for five minutes then wedge a knife in between the two pieces of wood. As you work the knife the wood joint should start to separate. Work the tool on the edge of the joint until you can start penetrating into the joint. For this reason it can be quite a challenge to unglue.

Inject more solvent if the joint wont move wait another 10 or 20 minutes and try again. Then resaw the veneer 332 or so thick.
